Privacy policy.

This Privacy Policy sets out how Studio Seed Inc. (“we”, or “us”) manages data obtained from its clients and other users of its software and services (“you”). Any capitalized terms referred to in this Privacy Policy will have the same meaning as in our End User License Agreement document. The SEED Lodge operates under the company Studio Seed Inc.

In our mission to consistently improve our services and product offerings to our clients, we collect and use information about:

  1. The clients who choose to use our Software and Services;

  2. The manner in which our clients access and use our Software and Services; and

  3. The performance of our Software and Services.

This Privacy Policy will help you better understand how we collect, use, and share your information. If we change our privacy practices, we may update this Privacy Policy. If any changes are made to this Privacy Policy, you will be required to accept the updated policy prior to further access of the Software and Services.

Why we process your information

We generally process your information when we need to do so to fulfill a contractual obligation (for example, to process your subscription payments to use the Studio Seed platform), or where we or someone we work with needs to use your information for a reason related to their business (for example, to provide you with a service). These reasons include:

  • answering questions or providing other types of support;

  • providing and improving our products and services;

  • preventing risk and fraud;

  • providing reporting and analytics;

  • testing out features or additional services; and

  • assisting with marketing, advertising, or other communications.

We only process personal information for these reasons after considering the potential risks to your privacy—for example, by providing clear transparency into our privacy practices, offering you control over your personal information where appropriate, limiting the information we keep, limiting what we do with your information, who we send your information to, how long we keep your information, or the technical measures we use to protect your information.

Security of Your Personal Information

We use administrative, technical and physical measures to safeguard your information against unauthorized access, unauthorized disclosure, theft and misuse. This includes limiting access of employees to, and the use of, your information through the use of passwords and graduated levels of clearance. 

We do not publish all of our security measures because this may reduce their effectiveness. We educate our employees with respect to their obligations to protect your information.

Although we take precautions against possible breaches of our security systems, no company can fully eliminate the risks of unauthorized access to your personal information.

When We May Disclose Your Personal Information

We may also disclose your information if it is necessary for us to collect a debt from you or where we have reason to believe that it is relevant to the investigation or decision to investigate a breach of the laws of Canada, a province or territory of Canada, or a foreign jurisdiction, and we are legally permitted to do so.

We may transfer any information we have about you in connection with a merger or sale without your knowledge or consent (including transfers made as part of insolvency or bankruptcy proceedings) involving all or part of our business or as part of a corporate reorganization or stock sale or other change in corporate control, in order to facilitate continuation of service and continued feature development.

Subject to applicable law, we will disclose information without your knowledge or consent if we receive an order, subpoena, warrant or other legal requirement issued by a court, tribunal, regulator or other person with jurisdiction to compel disclosure of your information.

Your rights over your information

We believe you should be able to access and control your information no matter where you live. Depending on how you use Studio Seed, you may have the right to request access to, correct, amend, delete, port to another service provider, restrict, or object to certain uses of your information. We will not charge you more or provide you with a different level of service if you exercise any of these rights.

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • request that we advise you whether we hold information about you and allow you to access that personal information;

  • request corrections to the information we hold;

  • withdraw consent or request the deletion of information that is no longer necessary for the purposes for which we collected it; and

  • make a complaint to us about our information handling if you believe we have not complied with our legal obligations.
