REST + RECONNECT

Silence, Meditation & Writing

A Winter Solstice Retreat at the SEED Lodge

December 17–20, 2026

As the year winds down and the light grows short, this quiet retreat invites you into the stillness the season is already asking of you. Held mostly in silence and as a complete digital detox, four days at the SEED Lodge give you the conditions to stop, listen inward, and let your nervous system settle before the new year begins. You will be gently guided through daily meditation, breathwork, Kundalini yoga, and expressive writing, with deeper support available through art therapy and psychotherapy alongside. This retreat is for anyone carrying burnout, and for anyone who senses they need a real pause to recalibrate. Some previous meditation experience is helpful, though everything here is guided and accessible.

Come as you are. Give yourself the gift of rest. Leave feeling clearer, steadier, and more yourself.

Step away from the noise of daily life and return to the quiet wisdom that lives underneath it. This Silence, Meditation & Writing retreat is part of our Rest + Reconnect series at the SEED Lodge, and it is built for the darkest, shortest days of the year.

We are taught to push through winter the same way we push through everything else, to keep our output steady while the whole natural world around us slows, empties, and draws inward. The land knows something we have been trained to forget. This is the season of contraction, of incubation, of turning toward the dark. The seed does its most important work underground, where nothing appears to be happening at all. I built these retreats around that same truth. After more than twenty years of sitting with people, I know that rest is the foundation everything else is built on. Rest is what allows you to think clearly, to feel steadily, and to show up for your life with energy that actually lasts.

Over four days in the tranquil countryside, you are invited into a different pace, one where time slows down, your to-do list loosens its grip, and your only focus is you. You will be gently guided into silence through Kundalini yoga, pranayama, guided meditation, and simple nervous-system-informed practices that help you settle from the inside out. As your body softens and your breath deepens, the mind begins to quiet. From that place of stillness, we turn to the written word. Reflective prompts and guided journaling help you integrate the year that has passed, look honestly at the different areas of your life, and begin to vision what you want to cultivate in the year ahead.

This is also a complete digital detox. When you arrive, you will hand in your devices, and in doing so you give yourself a rare experience of time without interruption. The peaceful rhythm of the countryside, the nourishing seasonal meals, the warmth of the lodge and the wood-fired sauna, and the quiet companionship of others walking the same path all invite you to turn your gaze inward more deeply than you have in a long time.

The deeper work here is real. Through breath, through art therapy, and through psychotherapy, you have the support to learn how to reset your own nervous system, so that what you find over these four days can travel home with you. My intention for these retreats has always been the same. This is not an escape from your life. It is a way of returning to it, with more of yourself intact. Everything you touch here is meant to stay with you and to be lived, quietly and practically, long after you leave.

If you have been running on empty, this retreat is an invitation to stop. You are welcome to engage in the art of not doing, to rest deeply, to be cared for, and to remember what it feels like to simply be. There is space to join every session or to sleep, walk, write, or sit quietly with tea. You already have your own answers inside you. Sometimes we just need the right conditions to hear them, and these four days are designed to give you exactly that.

What You'll Experience

Welcoming the Dark

We tend to treat the dark months as something to get through, a stretch of the year to endure until the light comes back. This retreat offers a different relationship with the season. Darkness is where rest lives, where reflection deepens, and where the quieter parts of you can finally be heard. Contraction is as much a part of the cycle as growth, and there is real wisdom in letting yourself draw inward when the world around you is doing the same. To welcome the dark is to trust that this fallow, incubating time is preparing you for what comes next.

The Benefits of Silence and Rest

Silence is clarifying. When distraction falls away, a different kind of knowing appears. Rest works the same way. When you finally stop, your system has the room to repair, and much of what felt tangled begins to loosen on its own. Many guests leave with:

  • Relief from chronic stress and overthinking

  • Renewed emotional clarity

  • Restored energy that holds after they return home

  • A deeper connection to their own intuition

  • Increased creativity and insight

  • Genuine, sustaining rest

  • A felt sense that rest belongs in their life as a practice, not a reward

This retreat is non-religious and open to people of all backgrounds.

If questions, concerns, or emotions arise during the retreat, you can write them down and pass them to me, or request a brief check-in. You do not need prior yoga experience, and everything is guided, clear, and accessible. Most importantly, this retreat gives you space to slow down, think, feel, rest, and listen, in ways that daily life rarely allows.

You will be completely cared for here, so that you can finally set down everything you have been holding.

A Supportive Environment
