Rest & Reconnect: Spring Detox Retreat

A Nervous System Reset for Burned Out Professionals in Ontario
March 25 to 28, 2027

Your body lets go when your nervous system

feels safe enough to rest.

You have probably tried the vacation, the meditation app and the juice cleanse, and watched the benefits fade by your second week back at work. That happens because a body living in fight or flight keeps digestion, sleep and repair on hold, whatever you feed it. This spring detox retreat begins where real cleansing begins, with your nervous system.

The Rest & Reconnect Retreat Method is built on a clinical principle I have relied on for over twenty years as a psychotherapist and medical herbalist: the body repairs and releases when it feels safe enough to rest. Over four days on 50 acres of farm and forest near Georgian Bay, we settle your nervous system first through breathwork, Kundalini Yoga, psychotherapy and a complete digital detox. Once your body shifts into rest and digest, herbal liver support, nourishing whole foods, fresh juices and warming soups can do their work. You go home understanding the patterns that have kept your body from resting, along with a practice you can keep using between meetings.

Rest is foundational to everything you want to build, and giving it to yourself is one of the most practical decisions you can make this year.

Breathe. Pause. Listen.

Return to yourself & then repeat.

The Rest & Reconnect Retreat Method

Every retreat in the Rest & Reconnect series follows the same method, because rest is the foundation that everything else depends on.

Permission to rest. For four days, rest is the work. Many of us have spent years treating rest as something we earn, and this retreat gives you full permission to stop proving and producing.

Breathwork for nervous system calm. Each day includes specific breathing exercises designed to bring your nervous system into a state of calm, so your body can move out of high alert and into repair.

Kundalini Yoga. Carefully selected Kundalini Yoga practices stimulate circulation, lymphatic flow, digestion and elimination while regulating the nervous system. They are accessible and grounding, and they awaken vitality at a pace your body can welcome.

Psychotherapy and group awareness. Through psychotherapy practices and group psychotherapy, you will begin to recognize the patterns in your nervous system that keep your body from resting. Seeing those patterns clearly, in the company of others who share them, is what allows the reset to last once you are home.

Deeply nourishing food. Meals are fresh, nutritious and prepared with care, so your body receives exactly what it needs to restore itself.

Complete digital detox. When you arrive, you hand in your devices and give yourself a rare stretch of time without interruption. For many guests, this is the first time in years their mind has been quiet enough to hear what their body needs.

The practice of doing nothing. You are warmly encouraged to do nothing at all. Sitting by the stream, napping in the afternoon and watching the light change across the land are some of the most restorative things you can offer your nervous system.

“My intention for these retreats has always been the same. This is not an escape from your life. It is a way of returning to it, with more of yourself intact. You already have your own answers inside you. Sometimes you just need the right conditions in which to hear them.”
